As promised I added some pics of teal elements from my own house. This is my formal living room. I recently updated it with some new and old teal decor. The elements you see were purchsed through various venues. Target, kirklands, Burlington, thrift stores, French Market etc. all my faves.


This is the mantel on my fireplace. Its so hard to appreciate the range of teal colors, which i love to incorporate a wide range it makes the whole setting more appealing to the eye.


My couch...I love these pillows. when you find great pillows you just have to buy them. Both these original gorgeous sets were purchased at Burlington.
This is a cool 3d art piece I found. I love it!!! This is how I shop...I look and browse until that one thing makes me say WOW! If I have to think about it too long its not right. I shop a long time and really look things over and when I do I am very pleased and when I do not I regret it.
SHOPPING ADVICE : Take your time and make a list of what you are looking for. Color is very important. If possible take a swatch of color with you to help. Paint samples work great. Also You CAN experience what I call the "WOW FACTOR" don't be in a rush when you shop, take your time, and when something wows you, and the price is right, get it!

The new teal

Teal is everywhere and even more beautiful than ever before. I just incorporated this in my living room. You have to love this color it just pulls you in. It can be rich, inviting and warm or cool calming and soothing. The array of variations and hues are mind boggling. I just know it is wonderful. It really is the new green. It is taking over the decorating world. It's not your mothers teal. It is really a neutral in my eyes because it can be paired with so many other colors. Get hip and try this new teal in a room in your house. I know I love mine.

I have so much to do in the way of decorating. I am working on getting my house ready to sell. I am staging it for the perfect sellling setting. It has been really fun to stage a house. I hope it sells. Staging is really an art and I am gald I have a chance to put it to some practice. Thank you to all my loyal customers who keep me in the loop of their incredible decorating. I am anxious to start some spring projects. French Market opens up in March. Lets meet up there for fun. You know she always throws a great party. Ok divas till then...ta ta for now.

My older kids are gone for two months this summer so I am redecoating their bedrooms. YEA! I am so excited I have some great plans. I am going to create a window reading area for both my girls complete with big comfy chair, and a reading lamp. After a consultaion with the two of them, I have a theme in mind. For my older daughter her room theme is " Escape to the beach" because she read a series of books about a girl who leaved in a beach house and now she dreams of having her own one day. I plan on lots of white to brighten things up than adding in bold splashes of color. Mu husband is making me a surfboard shelf for her wall. I will paint it bold and add decorator elements in bolds around the room. Plus anything I can find when I shop to add to the theme. My younger daughter wants to be a fashion designer so her theme is "Fashionista" I am using India inspired colors and adding a desingners corner with sewing machine and lots of fabrics. I plan on posting before and after photos. Look for those in about two months.

I have been looking around my own house thinking about all the things I still have to do. I wonder if decorating your own house ever has an end. I constanly see needs and changes. maybe its the decorators curse. My mind is always working out another cool idea and I want to try it out on my own space first. The past few weeks I have been couch hunting to replace the couch in my front room. The couch I have now has been with me way too long, but it is hard to give up because it is so comfortable. However when you have resorted to lots of throw blankets to cover the flaws its time to give it up. After a lot of searching, and not finding anything just right, I thought that covering it would be a great option. My mother is fantstic at upholstering so I gave her a call. She looked it over and agreeed it would be possible. Now I am excited, its on to upholstry shopping now. I will post a before and after picture when its all done. I think its a great idea. I get to keep my comfort and have a new look too. I love decorating, its the artist in me. I see the home as a blank canvas, just yearning for inspiration to cover it.

I came home today from a successful trip to Kirklands. I love this store. i was searching for some thimgs for my bathroom to FINALLY finish the decor. I found a towel holder for the counter and a set of cool black towels with decorative beads and tassels along the edges. I needed one more thing for the counter and after a little digging I found a set of black containers that are just right to finish off the look. Now I need a plant or something living and a stool for the floor. Another fun day of shopping this time with success. YEA! By the way I got all three items for $34, now that's the DIVA WAY!
